Used one for the first time this weekend to go from Huddersfield to Stoke. Could have probably figured it out myself but it was good to have one 'just in case'.
We live in the best signposted country in Europe, yet people still need satnavs?! :thdn: I have a pretty good grasp of English geography and where places are/how I could get to them, so it's not hard.

Good to have as a backup, but only as good as the software on your map itself. Some versions are chronically old and will direct you down closed roads etc.
If you don't drive to new places very much, I really wouldn't bother. AA maps ftw :thup:
