wikipedia is a hellhole of ***** and idiots. the current trend seems to be deleting trivia sections of articles, ie removing all the bits that are readable and interesting. presumably to free up space to write more on mortal kombat 3: the cartoon

Wikipedia is what it is: a depository of information which is only as good as the people who place it there, and moderate it.
Unlike conventional encyclopaedia, Wiki is a best guess stab at an answer to the trivial, but not a source to be relied upon. I use it to answer general stat questions or pub quiz answers. I wouldn't use it for an essay.
Is Wikipedia biased? I expect so, but I wouldn't use it or depend upon it for anything substantial. No way.

Conservapedia was founded by Phyllis Schlafly's son (not the gay one). What kind of quality do you expect?

Wikipedia is good for general facts and brief histories of people and other stuff. It certainly isnt a history of the world or anything like that
It pretty crap in tersm of accuracy though. In Cumbria it misses out the 11th biggest town in Cumbria on the Cumbria page. Id edit it if it wasnt a horribly complex procedure (and i could actually be arsed). Besides someone would edit it out again no doubt |

Absolutely not. You'd have a better case arguing for a liberal slant in universities and other places of academia.

I'd never heard of Schafly before, but hey, you can never have too many conservative hate figures in your life. Quote: |
