Hereford United : We signed too many (nearly a whole squad again) so i might forget a couple.
Lionel Ainsworth- He was the best signing, scored 8 in 14 starts i think as well as numerous assists and he's just moved on loan to Watford with a option of a permanent deal.
Treveor Benjamin- I was a bit dubious about him at the start but he has played very well and added something which we where lacking up front.
Karl Broadhurst- I'd never really heard of him but he has proven to be a very good centre back.
John Mccombe- I hadnt heard much about him too but he has been like Broadhurst and done very well.
Mike Ingham- Well he hasnt really played yet so i cant say much about him.
Simon Johnson- He has only made a handful of sub appearences as well but he looks quite useful.
Clint Easton- I thought he would be a good signing and so far he hasnt proved me wrong.
Kris Taylor- He has done ok nothing special but he hasnt let us down.
Trent Mcclenahan- I was excited about signing him as he use to play for West Ham and in L1 for Mk dons and he has done a solid job well when he isnt flying half way round the world to play in Australia u23 games.
Toumani Diagouraga and Theo Robinson have both come on loan from Watford and they have performed really well and they look like they have a lot of potential.
Overall the signings have done much better than i hoped as i didnt expect to be anywhere near as close to the top of the tabel as we are now.

j'lloyd samuel - was part of the horror defence of august, has had about one good game and looks dreadful going forward
gavin mccann - most bolton fans haven't warmed to him, i think he is something we need, someone who gets about midfield and breaks up opposition play, so very very limited though
mikel alonso - has had a couple of impressive appearances, practically motm in two successive home games in sept against reading and everton but hasn't been in the team much since, can pick a pass out well and has a shot in him, good backup at least
gerald cid - oh boy, absolutely horrific early season at centre back, clumsy slow and misjudges headers ridiculously, has since made a few cameo's at left back and looked more comfortable there and can actually pass the ball ok, one of allardyce's parting shots im sure though, 4 year contract ffs
heidar helguson - didn't get much time early season before his injury, is probably reasonable backup to the striker force we have but never going to be awe-inspiring
danny guthrie - excellent, came into the team for the first time in a league cup outing at fulham and score a pearler, shortly after started his first league game for us at home to chelsea and has impressed every game since then, he looks lively, can pass well and has a shot on him, if we stay up then i'd like us to sign him full time from the dippers, much better than nolan atm
andy o'brien - probably the best piece of business so far along with guthrie, has brought a commanding voice to the backline that was sorely missing early on, is solid without being spectacular and has been caught out for pace once or twice, absolutely vital signing considering the mess our defence was left in after faye left
daniel braaten - impressed early on but has done precious little since, would rather go to ground than try and beat his man as a winger, was probably the only player who didn't come out of our 2-2 draw in munich smelling of roses
christian wilhelmsson - not sure really, hasn't been involved much, hasn't show the creative spark i'd hoped he might have, one thing that's good though is he is no fancy foreign winger, he works hard, tracks back and can get stuck in, expected a bit more than what has been forthcoming from him if i am honest though

babel - loads of potential, starting to show it.
voronin - neat little player at first, been a bit poor recently though. still all is good as he was free.
benayoun - yes.
itandje - backup to reina so not seen too much of him except for some carling cup games. first one he was a bit dodgy but did well against cardiff.
bags of youngsters too for the future, with a lot of them suppost to be doing great.
| same, except lucas. crap. </BLOCKQUOTE>

carson - fantastic, need to make it permanent asap
knight - despite the jokes he's done reasonably well so far in defence, and I am happy, don't see him being there long term mind.
davis c. - not got into first team as yet really, debut was poor in the league cup, so can't comment really.
harewood - awful, not contributed anything so far in his miserably few appearances. Brought in as back up fair enough, but evidently not in MoN's plans already after woeful brief appearances. Won't stay long.
salifou - freebie togan - 1 year deal, could be good, could not, but sounds promising in the reserves atm.
The summer overall: 6/10
| Poor Nige </BLOCKQUOTE>
oops a sign he hasn't been spectacular then!
Nigel Reo Coker - there's a good player in there definitely, just not seen him as often as we'd have liked. Potential though.

| I think we can do it but it will be really tough and the more realistic aim for this season would be the playoffs. Now that we get too keep the two lads on loan from Watford for the season that will help a lot but we will also need to get someone in to replace Ainsworth to have a real chance.

Villa:
Nigel Reo-Coker: Er... mixed really. He's had his moments of awesomeness accompanied by some really average stuff. A definite improvement on McCann though.
Marlon Harewood: Contributed nothing other than a tap in at Wrexham and trying to have anal sex with Darren Bent in our penalty area. The fact he wasnt even in the 16 when Carew was out injured probably speaks volumes. As BoN said, he doesnt appear to be in MON's plans, which is strange, but there we go. I can only imagine somethings gone/going on behind the scenes. Has to win over the fans, which really isnt going to help him. Should last beyond January unless we can mug Boro, Wigan or Derby to give us half our money back.
Zat Knight: Not as bad as people think, I guess you'd not know unless you watch us regularly. Probably better than Ridgewell, but really needs to stop hoofing 50 yard balls when there's a simple pass on.
Scott Carson: Really happy with him. About a bazillion times better than Sorensen in every possible way. Sign him up please.
Curtis Davies: Only played one game and that was an abortion (though he was by no means the worst player against Leicester imo). Had a couple of sub appearances recently and is waiting in the wings for Zat Knight to lose form.
Mousatpha Salifou - Not appeared in the first team yet, but he appears to be doing enough to earn a shot at a longer contract. Cult-hero in the making.
