Diomansy Kamara: Total enigma, always selfish. Clearly never going top be more than an average top flight striker, could have spent £6mil much better.

Chris Baird: Makes Kamara look like a bargain. Complete **** and total liability. Is ugly and has crap hair. Distribution laughable, marking woeful.

Paul Konchesky: Done ok. Nothing spectacular but solid defensively if limited going forward.

David Healy: Clinical. Bags of effort. Legend.

Lee Cook: Injured, presumed dead.

Nathan Ashton: Cost nothing, played one game, looked a thousand times better than Baird without even trying.

Hameur Bouazza: Would be awesome if he had a better final ball about him. Boa Morte's boots are tough to fill.

Kasey Keller: Better than Warner.

Danny Murphy: Still has flashes of England international about him. Gets forward well, probably the best orthodox midfielder in the squad.

Dejan Stefanovic: Looked shaky on his debut but has settled in nicely along Hughes. Good bit of business getting rid of Knight and getting Big Dej for a cool mil.

Seol ki-Hyeon: Not seen enough of him really. Been ok in his limited sub appearances but nothing spectacular.

Has Bouazza not done much then? When I've seen him play for Fulham I think he's done quite well.

Haven't seen much of Kamara play but when I saw him against Blackburn I thought he looked quite a threat.

I don't think Pearce ever played Left Back for us

I agree you need a Makelele or a Mikel in there, Didi Hamann plays that role for us, so it would be Lampard or Ballack, which is why I don't understand how you can say you don't agree that they both can't play together </BLOCKQUOTE>

Lampard/Ballack + Mikel/Makelele
Lampard/Essien + Mikel/Makelele
Essien/Ballack + Mikel/Makelele

Is the thinking behind that, fairly simple but I didn't explain myself. Half-man, half-machine though he is I don't think we can expect Essien to play 60-70 games a season, plus like last season there will be the times where he has to play rightback, centreback, rightwing and God knows where else.

Never seen him play wide right, so I'm just going to take your point on that one. Although I would be concerned with a 3 man central midfield, playing Elano cutting in more often than not on the right and Joey Cole cutting in more often than not on the left. Might end up with 5 players in central midfield. Mental.

Yes he did.

He missed "that" penalty as well.

Thats where you're attacking full backs come into it, Garrido and Corluka are always forward when Petrov and Ireland cut inside, same goes for Zambrotta and Abidal at Barcelona or Alves and Gilberto for Brazil.

Still don't agree that Lampard and Ballack can play together, i'd see it more like

Makelele/Essien/Lampard
Makelele/Essien/Ballack
Mikel/Essien/Lampard
Mikel/Essien/Ballack
Makelele/Mikel/Lampard
Makelele/Mikel/Ballack

In that 3 man midfield 1 is a defensive player, 1 is a box to box player and 1 is an attacking player. I can't see Lampard or Ballack being that box to box player without taking alot away from their game

I don't think he did, for the majority of the season we played wing backs with Jensen on the left and SWP on the right, Pearce played on the Left of a back 3 with Dunne and Howey. When we did go 4-4-2 it was usually when one of those 3 were missing so it would be 2 of the 3 at DC
