I own an Inspiron 9400 and recently the battery light on the laptop base doesn't flash when the AC Adapter isn't plugged in.

The computer still works with the AC Adapter plugged in.

The computer is only 10 months old and still have 2 months of its warranty lef. Should I contact Dell and request a replacement battery?

Will I be required to send them the dead battery?

I hate to point this out, but in the time it took to type this you could have contacted Dell & asked.

I'd also guess that the best way of telling if the battery's dead would be to pull out the AC Adapter and see if it still works.

I would've done that, but I was signed in here so I decided to ask.

I'll probably ask for a replacement anyway. Just wanted some feedback from a Dell user, not a Dell employee.
