| Do quite agree with that tbh. Older music of chili's was good, but nowadays a bit more poppy. But the same can be said about the Clash. Songs like Train in vain are so poppy for a typically punk band but i guess that's just music for you. Dosen't stop it being enjoyable IMO.

Maccabees and Good Shoes' albums are both excellent, but I wouldn't label them as singles bands - First Love aside. The sum definately greater than the parts in both cases.
I've got around 50 albums from this year, and I'd put the following in the top bracket for me (in no particular order):
The Maccabees - Colour It In
Jamie T - Panic Prevention
Architecture In Helsinki – Places Like These
The National - Boxer
!!! - Myth Takes
Low - Drums and Guns
Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna...
Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypta
Panda Bear - Person Pitch

Anyone heard of a band Called "Cheese on Bread"?
I've just been looking at the Luminaire website, after hearing about the Aeroegramme gig and found out these are playing there on Wendnesday.
They sounding pretty darn good. They are playing Wednesday. But i'm a bit busy this week Quote:
Hailing from New York and favourites of Jeffrey Lewis are Cheese on
Bread. This six-piece blend The Beach Boys' sense of harmony, They
Might Be Giants twisted pop glory with unfailing enthusiasm and a
sense of innocent wonder.
"Their tenaciously nerdy tunes are a blend of encyclopaedic facts and
sassy, bloglike rants - many of which are surprisingly touching. Just
think of it as comfort food with a kick." [Time Out NYC]
They met at a University café, the bastard child of a post-
structuralist education and a rather poor dinner menu. Their boy/girl
gay/straight antifolk pop is a blend of cultural commentary, catchy
harmony and complete silliness.
