VU is brilliant. Andy's Chest probably my favourite song off it.

No Code is a good bit different from the likes of Ten, Vs. and Vitalogy but it's excellent in my opinion. I love Sometimes and Hail Hail while Lukin is just pure intense.

Anyone been to see Tilly & the Wall on their current tour? They were excellent in Glasgow last week. Saw Jarvis Cocker the night before who was also great.

Would you recommend getting The Hold Steady's previous albums then Daaaaave? I have to admit I only heard of them towards the end of last year and I've only heard "Boys and Girls in America". I noticed they have 2 previous albums, worth a purchase?

And have you, or any of the other Yanks, heard anything of a New York band called Men, Women & Children?

dunno, i never got it cos her first album was, well, basically crushingly dull. that and her voice just annoyed me after a few listens. but then i probably didn't listen to any albums that got into most people's top 10s. like everyone raved over the knife or something? never bothered myself

the rakes' new album also very good imo while i think of it, them and hatherley getting most plays off me in between revision of the rapture for their gig last night
