24/11 - A crucial decision for Australia's future. As well as the AFL draft, there's an election of some sort...
So just one day to go until the federal election. It looks like the Howard government will be voted out in a landslide, and replaced by a Howard clone, an irritating robot-dancer and a woman who just scares the hell out of me [Rudd, Garrett and Gillard, for what it's worth].
How are we feeling about the impending change? Is it the wonderful "OMG we're saved from their reign of tyranny" that some seem to be promoting? Is it a threat to the economy? Will it really make a difference to your life? [Australians, that is - don't be a smart arse and say it doesn't affect you because you live in outer Mongolia...] Is there an issue with having Labor governments in every state as well as the federal government?
I'm a Liberal voter, but I can live with Labor. God knows I've had to put up with Bracks' reign of blandness here. My only concern is if the nutty Greens get any sort of power. They're like a left-wing One Nation, and extremism of any sort is unwelcome.
Besides the election, there's the AFL draft, which is far more interesting.
I'm very 'meh' about it tbh. I'll be voting Liberal more than likely, just because I live in Wayne Swan's electorate and he's a tool who's done nothing for it.
I think the growth we've experienced over the last ten years will fade away pretty quickly though. Be interesting to see what happens three years from now, when people hopefully realise employment laws have no noticeable change and interest rates continue climbing.
