Yeah Gregg wp on missing the point. What she did she did as a joke, ergo it was her sense of humour. I didnt state anywhere that i agreed with her getting the sack or not.

Voice of London Underground gets sacked for having sense of humour Post #14
Whether her comments were funny or true is not important - by making derogatory comments about Tube passengers, there was no way TfL would stand by her.
If they didn't act, it could be interpreted that they saw slanderous comments against their service users as being acceptable - which could potentially cost them a lot of money in the long run.
(PS - her voice is annoying, and being a voiceover artist isn't something you make a career of, anyway)

From how TfL seem to be responding, her sense of humour wasn't the problem. She'd probably not have been sacked if she'd just made the jokes about people staring at womens breasts and Americans being loud. To criticise TfL openly like that, regardless of whether or not it was intended to be tongue in cheek, when she is supposed to be "the voice" of the tube reflects negatively on the company and of course they have to act.

Those messages are recorded, aren't they? Surely once she's recorded the message and gone home her job is done? Why would they need to sack her? Will they be wiping the tapes and re-recording them with some other 'voice over artiste'?

Lines get updated, stations get added/removed etc.
Will be strange and quite pleasing to not have to listen to her speak anymore.
