Was in this sort of position myself a few weeks ago, gave it 2 or 3 weeks and then realised that if i seen her with any other person I couldnt deal with it, so we sorted things out and things are great now. How long have u actually felt like this?

If a few weeks then I would suggest a 1 or 2 week break, as it isnt exactly telling her its over its basically time to see what you really want then if still nothing end it, if you miss her stick with it. Sorted imo.

I remember the only time I actually maned up and told a girlfriend I wanted to split up with her, this was after a few days of ignoring her calls.

Basically threw in a load of compliments to try and hide the fact that I didn't want to see her anymore and that she deserved someone better who could give her the full attention and love she needed, she cried, I left.

Didn't speak to her for about four months until she called me, we met up, she told me she was devastated when we split up. Saying things like "I cried for days" "couldn't leave the house". Then she told me that she went out for drinks with friends and got together with an ex boyfriend, told me the date this happened. Which turned out to be the day after I split up with her. Definition of devastation right there.
