problem for eck is his stock is pretty much as high as its going to get for scotland and if he stayed for 2010 quals he's committing himself to a job which will mean he would be out of club management for another 2 years by which point he's probably not going to be getting the praise he's getting now (after all he's getting some of the credit for results smith was manager for) so i guess he must've had to weigh that up

having said that if he's moved to birmingham it's surely for the money because they are a nothing club going nowhere
