I mean, I've got an mp3 player. It's not an iPod. It's a Sanyo something-or-other, so I call it an mp3 player. Yet, anyone who's got an iPod calls it an iPod - why? Surely it's an mp3 player, so why not call it that? Is it a status thing?
It seems that if you've got an iPod you call it that, and if you've an mp3 player that isn't an iPod, you call it an mp3 player - despite them being the same.
Why? Are people just showing off?

its also because if people said "have you seen my creative zen" some people might think you crazy. infact, you dont even seem to know what your sanyo is called yourself.
