I never made any money from promoting gigs, actually I never even thought about making money or breaking even.
Everyone else is happy if they get their slice though.

sorry can't help, was going to suggest my mates' band, but they wouldn't really be bringing anyone if they were to come as they're from Manchester so they'd be no good to you, and as there's not that many people going to be there they probably wouldn't be interested, esp when they'd have to pay for travel etc, plus they are kind of taking a break right now.
Thats the problem for outside bands getting people in.
Out of curiosity what are they called? </BLOCKQUOTE>
They are pretty good actually, may approach them in the future.
This one has been a nightmare, we only got confirmation of the date late last week. And had two bands provisionally lined up, who have since dropped out.
we need all five bands confirmed by friday to get artwork sorted.

be warned they are considering changing their name, they've played Liverpool a couple of times, but I think they'll be looking to do more non-Manchester gigs in the future. So they might well be interested.

Bloody hell mate, £300!
What capacity venue? How much did the venue cost?
Where the bands local?
It was at Pacific Road Theatre (in lovely birkenhead)
Was a 500 capacity venue at the time (now 750 i think)
We had 10 bands that night, cost 670 to hire it. sold around 250 at £4 a pop.
We had probably the biggets local band at the time play, (skank like frank fwiw. They brought about 80 odd people
