fair point eric, although with Terry and Ferdinand you dont notice how well they play together until they dont play, a la the shambles against Croatia.

I dont rate Joe Cole as a great winger but he certainly wouldnt be out of place at a team like Valencia imo, a bit above average anyway.

Although the current English candidates are far from great, I don't think there's a lot wrong with Platini's comments. I certainly agree that ideally the England manager should be English.

but why? if you look at other countries many of them have different nationality managers. Russia and Guus Hiddink being a prime example.(hes also be in charge of South Korea and Australia incidentally)

But he's not in a league full of players with poor technique? And he doesn't especially stand out most of the time in the Prem.

He's arguably in a national side with many technically weak (in context) players.

I dont know why but whoever is in the 'big jobs' in UEFA or FIFA always feel the need to point out things they dont like in England or English football. Easy way to get themselves some attention, i guess but no one asked them and no one really cares what they think
