Carl, for no other reason than my parents liking the name. Other candidates were Malcolm and Vincent.

My other two names, Gunnar Filip, are after my maternal grandfather who died twenty years before I was born. It's very fitting actually, since I resemble him a lot, both physically and personality-wise.

My Father. My Mum and my Nan actually had a proper argument when the Priest (or whoever) at my Baptism (or whatever - not religious enough to care) asked what I was to be called. He got so annoyed with them he asked what my Father's name was and told them that was what my name would be.

Could never have asked for a better name (my Father died 4 months before I was born; to pre-empt the 'Where was he?' questions)

My Mum was hospilatized for the first few months of my life, so my Nan saw herself as a type of surrogate mother. The worst part was what she wanted to call me: Shane Wayne Lambert (Lambert being my surname obviously)
