actually this is a big annoyance of mine.
the amount of bikes that travel down the road i go home on is amazing. and they ALL travel on the wrong side of the road.
so i'm minding my own buisness travelling one way then all of a sudden a bike zips round the corner and almost crashes into me.
i'm standing to drive slightly closer to the central line of the road to force them onto their side.

I would definitely have a bike if I had anywhere to keep it. Unfortunately due to the **** design of my street, house and garden its not an option. Looking to move, in part for this reason.

My Scooter has made my life much easier, but it is a huge risk I have to admit. 95% of road users are good enough to treat you with a certain degree of common sense, but there is a small minority that see you as either an annoyance or worse still completely ignore you.
Since I was hit I've invested in some extra protection - I even have a fluorescent vest, but it's worth it to know that people are unlikely to miss you.
As far as my attitude is concerned, I'm fairly patient and I never cut through traffic, even when it would be a big advantage. I'm just not going to put myself in a position where someone may not see me or might take offence to what I'm doing.

I find them about the same as normal car drivers, there are a percentage who drive like complete tossers who just shouldn't be on the road, and if you happen to get into a accident with any of them you're likely to be in a nasty situation due to the speed they were probably travelling at.
Just with motorcyclists, they've got a lot less protection. In one of the villages nearby one of the 'older lot' died after going too fast around a corner and finding the road with cows spread across (only in the country I know), he hit one and didn't stand a chance.
Now a couple of my friends ride them and my older brother is interested in getting one. Too many idiots on the road for me to be interested. I find it difficult enough walking along London pavements without people giving thought to anyone around them than to bother with any of that 'road' crap. |

Don't have a problem with the majority of motorbike on the road. However, the seventeen year old chavs on 50cc scooters (that sound like bluebottles) really annoy me.

Right on cue ive just been out for lunch, was walking in the middle of the pavement and one just overtook me. On the pavement. Was about to turn and cross the road too, if i'd turned half a second earlier he'd have taken us both out. Idiot.

Doesn't surprise me, one went straight into me on the pavement once. I remember for a period here they did £30 on the spot fines for cycling on the pavement but I don't think that lasted for very long unfortunately.
My mum has cycled to shops/work etc for as long as I can remember and she has no idea of the rules of the road, she just guesses and hopes for the best.
