As some of you will know, I'm a massive fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Babylon 5. I was hugely disappointed that they chose to axe Buffy, but to be fair the story had run its course. At least it had an ending. But what of the shows that were canceled long before their story was told?

The Incredible Hulk didn't end, iirc. And there were many shows of that era that just went on and on until no-one really cared that they ended without tying up loose ends.

But for me the story that I'd like to have seen finished was The Tripods, the BBCs ambitious and expensive replacement for Doctor Who. Good old Auntie Beeb made two-thirds of the trilogy, before butchering the show and depriving millions of their climax. Well they did give us a climax of sorts. They rewrote the end of the final episode of season two by killing off the good guys. I bet it was that bastard Michael Grade's fault.

Should clarify that although it did reach an end it just wasn't a satisfactory one and the whole thing should have run a bit longer.
