Many many times. simply out performs the films. could take quite a while to read i'd certainly recommend reading the hobbit first, although its more of a kids book, it's sets up the whole world in which LOTR is set. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Entirely agree with Kolin. I've read The Hobbit and LOTR many times.

O.k so I haven't read a book in at least 6 months due to the fact that I have become lazy and usually I read in bed and when I get into a good book I can't put it down and am usually shattered the next day.

However I have decided that I need to start reading again so anything that isn't too heavy/hard to read etc. as like I said I haven't read in a while and the last books I read were John Grisham or Stephen King or other stuff like that.

Starting to read James Herbets new book, but as Always, the best book I've read this year is by far "Secret hunters" by Ranulph Fienes.
Could not put it down

Started Love in the Time of Cholera last night. The first Marquez book I read was The Autumn of the Patriarch, which, quite frankly, was sometimes a slog of Finnegans Wake proportions. (Maybe it just didn't lend itself well to English?) But eventually I got my hands on 100 Years of Solitude and loved, loved, loved it. Time of Cholera appears to be more in 100 Years' vein, so I'm excited.

I also started Dos Passos' USA today, which may or may not be surrendered to the pile of epics I start and then set down never to read again during my off-periods in the school library.
