Default Private healthcare/cover policies

Does anyone have private cover/healthcare policies and if so, how good are they ?

I ask because just had a lad from AXA at the door, who is offering a policy which is around £8 a month (or £16 for me and the wife), which gives a variety of cover - for dental treatment/accidents, opticians, etc and also a free-phone number for an NHS Direct-type service. Obviously I'll have to speak to our lass about it first, but it sounds 'good'. It would be a two year contract, of which I can cancel at any time without a penalty.

Does anyone else have anything similar ? At present, I have no health cover whatsoever.

Got BUPA, pay £12 a month and have never used it.
Better to be safe than sorry imo.

I have from work yet it still costs me about £300 a year! Must get it cancelled, I'll never use it, I'm invincible.

Do we get a thread next week asking for our experiences of nuclear bunkers and how much it would cost to install one?

Always been interested in getting something, play a fair bit of sport in the past and have had issues getting to see Physios, plus generally NHS doctors in our area don't seem to be the greatest.

Missus has also had some issues in the past, so would be interested to hear anyones experiences and what generally is a fair price to pay depending on what you get.
