My laptop is from PC World (

), and when the DVD drive developed a mechanical fault I had to go through that 'Tech Guys' service to diagnose the problem before they'd replace the drive under my warranty.
The advice they gave me was ridiculous. Despite describing what was clearly a mechanical problem (wouldn't read discs, made a horrible clicking noise as it was trying to do so) the first guy was adamant that I should try re-installing the drivers. He talked me through the process, got confused halfway through, and then told me there was clearly something wrong with the way Windows was configured.
The next guy told me he wouldn't action a replacement until I had done a complete system recovery - meaning I had to back up all my data, re-burn all my music etc. Twats.
