The OTF Parents Club – dirty nappies and early mornings included.
Seems that the OTF is being overrun by the pitter patter of tiny feet at the moment, as the assorted geeks and losers here produce the next generation of posters. Thought it’d be nice to have a place to share stories, ask for advice and generally act the proud dad.
So, here's my two.
Matt’s five and a half. He’s a clever little bugger, and not short on confidence. Loves drama club and hates playing football. Probably gay. Had his 1st proper parents evening last week and we got exactly what we’d expected. When he shuts up and concentrates he’s very good, but he hasn’t the patience for anything. It’s something we’re working on at home – set times for certain activities – not letting him jump from one thing to another at will. His reading and writing are coming on – but again, only on his terms – he’s generally more interested in making up his own stories about whatever we are reading, rather than bothering with the actual words.
He’s a devious little sod at times. Last week he asked if I could pick him up from school. I said no, because I would be at work. So, he said ‘Why don’t you pretend to be ill’. I was slightly taken aback by that, said it was naughty and not very honest and asked if it was something he’d do….he said ‘welllllllllllllll, me and Jamie Clay were bored at school and I wanted to go home, so we had a plan. I was going to tell Miss Kialey that I was poorly so she’d phone mummy’…..it gets worse…..’but I realised that if I got home and started playing, mum would not I wasn’t really ill and send me back to school’.
Wasn’t sure whether to be pleased that he’d thought all that through, or cross that he’d been so naughty
Liam’s 9 months at the end of this week. He seems so much more placid and easy to handle than Matt was at that age – but that’s almost certainly more down to us than any major difference in the kids. He’s just started to crawl and now flies across the room – normally in search of the dog’s toys rather than his own. Has a huuuuge smile and will laugh at pretty much everything. He now claps on command, which is cute.
i have a seven month old lad called mason, i dont live with him yet as me and my girlfriend are still finishing the house we brought before we move in. He is very nosey and never wants to go sleep, he only sleeps for about 3 hours at night, the rest he wants to play. Weve tried evrything to get him to sleep but he never does at night. he always wants to be doing something and doesnt like just sitting down, but i have had hm watch football with me for about 20 minutes, but i think he just liked the colours as it was man u playing. my dad got him a leeds shirt but its too big for him at the minute, but he looks cool in his england shirt.

Ben is 5 in a couple of weeks time. A very handsome chap, and easy going.
Has been to football training twice, seems to enjoy it, but doesn't really have a clue what is going on. He can use both feet though.
Coming towards the end of his first year at school, the last few weeks have seen his drawing and writing come on leaps and bounds. Yesterday he wrote "Batman" on hs own, this is the first word he has written apart from his name.
His obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine is reducing and he is now a Power Rangers, Batman and Spiderman fan.
He tells rubbish jokes and still wets the bed sometimes. He is a bit of a fussy eater.
He has no concept of time and getting him ready to do anything takes an absolute age, which I find fustrating.
Jamie is 13 months. He is also adorable. He can crawl and yesterday he pulled himself up to stand up for the first time. He has 7 teeth, one of which is completely at the wrong angle.
He is very left handed. He eats anything and everything, to the extent that he finished a childs portion at a restaurant the other day then polished off what Ben couldn't finish.
They are my darlings

Well my wife is 30 weeks pregnant. Its our first after 11 years of marriage and basically hving too much fun to worry about making more little Mo's Basically we're at the loads of heartburn, loads of kicking phase. Child is already kicking on cue - its amazing when you speak to it and it kicks back in response. Truly one of the best things ever. Its also an expensive business - I burnt a huge hole in the wallet after buying carseat, buggy, cot and mattress at the weekend. But for all the scary things, there are also the good stuff. And hopefully this will prove true going forward...
