not everyone wants a phone? the phone is on a very limited set of plans on a single network. Lots of kids will probably want a new ipod but won't want/need the phone capabilities.

Fair enough. It juse seems so similar. Confuses me , why could Apple not have come up with some sort of different view of it?
I have to admit I had seen some awesome concept versions on the net a few months back.

if it had been 25 or 30gig i would have said i would definitely get one, now im not too sure, as you know within 6months they will have a 30gig or so one out.

wouldn't bank on it Los Rojiblancos®, .ogg is much superior to mp3 and an open spec so lord knows why they don't support it.
