ok after my 30gb Video iPod finally died yesterday after abotu 18 months of daily use I've reserved a 80GB Classic for £155 to pick up today, took me ages to find anywhere with them in stock.

guess i can fill it up with videos

I got the 5.5g 80gb (thick beast!) I bought in March and the HDD packed up.. so I thought "Great! Excuse to buy new one" but then I booked the appointment with a Genius Bar and they replaced me with an exactly the same one straightaway so fair play to them :thup:

Still tempted by the new Nano though

yep, but form what i understand they are trying to mask the problem by just increasing the gamma and contrast on faulty screens, so trying to fix a hardware problem with a software fix. so im going to still try and get it replaced.

The screen isn't that bad and you could quite easily live with it, but when you know its there and you look for it all the time it does become a bit annoying, and if im paying £255 for 16gigs i want it to fupping work 100%.

3rd gen 40Gb ipod still going strong with original battery after nearly 4 years.

full battery gives me 3 to 4 hours of play.
