a quick google suggests thats very much a wip type thing, it took them 9 months to get it working on the last ipod, and as with Rockbox, which i briefly had on my iriver h320 before i stupidly killed it, they are always WIP and never have the full functionaility of the original, so it's a question of your priorities in that case,

i simple don't want an apple mp3 player, there are alternatives out there that offer much more, and tbh, i dont give a toss what it looks like, it's only gonna spend its time in my pocket

Fair enough but you gotta understand that for every person that shares your views theres a lot more that are not fussed and like i said just wnat something uncomplicated, stylish and functional, thats where Apple gets it right, the sales suggest so.

I'm not so sure, sony is a prime example of a company that has stuck it's head in the ground when it has come to mp3 players. tbh sony should be dominating, they had the walkman, mini disc, etc but they made a grave error with mp3, instead of embracing it early they decided to stick to Atrac format. Can you believe it, it's only now that they have come to their senses and ditched Atrac, a little too late.

Whether some people like it or not Apple have got it right with the ipod and itunes whilst the others are just lagging behind.

tbh without Apples design flair we'd all be stuck with ugly looking players, at least now the other makers are making more of an effort to produce stylish mp3 players (but they're all playing catch up).

I don't have an ipod or any mp3 player for that matter, i just don't have an urgent need for one.

prehaps, but the far east market is very different to the western one, over there hdd mp3 players are not really popular at all and its all about the small protable flash players, which says something i guess.

but yeah i dont know wtf sony are doing atm cause their players are abysml

Well I somehow managed to get £135 for my 5th Gen 30gb iPod on ebay. Given it cost me £150 a year ago, i feel less guilty about getting my eyes pulled out for the £245 iPod touch I've ordered.

i think im about to cave in and buy one. 16gig while not enough for every cd ive got may make me go through and actually only put decent stuff instead of every single song ive ever got.

Crap I just took y sister's 60gb Ipod and got her a Nano.

Is 30 quids a good price for a Shure e2c headphone ? Any other better suggestions on headphones ?

well I paid about £40 for ec2s about a year ago

great sounding earphones, but they're not the most comfortable, or very nice looking. in fact, I feel like a bit of an idiot when I wear them. (they're yours for a tenner )



my sisters birthday soon, toss-up between spending £80 on an old 4GB nano, or £100 on a new 4GB nano.

considering she'd only make minimal use of the video capability (but would make a lot of use of photos, tbh), reckon it's worth forking out the extra £20?
