Over the last few weeks I've been contemplating buying myself a laptop. My PC is 5 years old, and would like to save space. I also work from home quite a lot lately so a laptop would allow me a bit more freedom where I work.
I really don't know much about laptops spec wise anymore. So is this a good deal? If not please recommend me other brands which are better or better value for money?
I had posted about this is someone elses laptop thread yesterday, which went unnoticed.

To be fair I've seen similar specced Asus, Toshiba and HP laptops for similar money. I quite like the look of the HP one as well.
Seems like a pretty good deal, I've heard a lot of good things about the build quality of the VAIOs. Normally Sony are more expensive than those other brands you mentioned, so I guess if they're similarly priced this is a good offer.

Out of the brands I listed, do you have preference, any companies known to have a better build quality etc?
