I don't mind stop and chats, as long as the other person isn't someone who will talk about the weather.
Everyone knows the weather is the 2nd worst form of conversation ever, bettered only by talking about peoples dreams. :thdn:

The weather is worse imo, think I'd rather have an awkward silence than resort to that ****.

worst one is if you see someone in a shop, or on your way out of a shop, say your goodbyes, and end up walking the same way down the street.
Schoolboy error not waiting to see which way they're headed.
some people go so in depth about the weather it's quite embarrassing really.
I can just about cope with "oh it's a horrible day" or whatever, but when people start saying things like "they reckon it's gonna rain tomorrow" or "well, they've SAID it's gonna be fine this afternoon" is when it gets ridiculous.

I have no issue with stop and chats.
Though a couple of times (with the person), they've been on the other side of the road (pretty much no other people around) and i've blanked them doing the old "oh, they mustn't have seen me" routine. Though i'm really not sure I got away with it
The ones who have no issue with a 'stop and chat' approche to life, clearly the people the rest of us are trying to avoid having to 'stop and chat' to.
I hate it when it's a long street and you see someone too early. You then have the uncomfortable experience of either walking the whole way whilst looking/smiling at them or looking like a twat and looking away.
haha, reminds me of when you're walking down a corridor and the person in front holds door-after-door open for you.
