Hounslow is awesome - might be moving there if I end up getting a job in London next year as we have a three bed house there already \o/

not interested in buying, let's just work on some job stability first
I doubt I'd get a house (mortgage) all too easily too
does seem it could be interesting though, Rohan

Clapham is probably the best area in the south of London to live (not that I'm biased or anything) but I don't think there are many studios around here. If you were to live near clapham junction your transport links would be pretty good to anywhere.
| whs basically. Not too pricey either, and an awesome launch off point. 10 minutes on the bus to Putney (going the opposite way along the south circular to all the traffic as well).
I doubt you have the Australian / South African accent to allow you to live in Putney tbh.

Ah, but do you have the underlying casual racism associated with it?
Wandsworth a decent shout as well, basically in between Putney and Clapham. Slightly cheaper than both, but still very good transport links (just hop on a bus to Clapham Junction). Plus they've got the Young's Brewery there which gives the place around the council building a lovely aley smell to it.

Pray tell I'm safe quoting generic Ingrid Jonker poetry and singing Koos Kombuis & Johannes Kerkorrel songs and shouting 'jou moer se kak!'for no specific reason?
I hate commuting, but everything within/around 30 minutes is acceptable to me
As long as it's fairly cheap, a decent (ok) area, somewhat youthful and things to do in the vicinity - I'm not too uptight |

Putney is nice - we have family there and they have a nice two-bedroomed place with a garden, which they are renting for not a great deal. I know he bikes into the city each day for work, while she strolls along the rive to get to Fulham. Transport is fine around the whole area too.
NHS - depends I guess for you. Isn't there some Europe-wide healthcare card that gets it cheap/free wherever you are? When we were in Italy, we had to pay what the locals did. Not sure on how it is the other way around.
Let me know if you need any info on Putney and the area, and I will get in touch with said family. Feel I owe you for your help and advice when I was in Den Haag a couple of years back.
