Not when requested but should be provided automatically as a matter of practice with the original post. The mods are slipping around here |

this might be a very stupid question.
Does the American University system have anything like the British process of 'clearing' where after the grades are issued for school in the summer, some universities re-invite applications on a very swift basis to fill up courses that still have vacancies?
A friend of mine is thinking of studying in America after opting out of her current job, but she wants to go next year and the initial application deadlines are way too close for her to sort out taking the SATS, getting references, getting her transcripts translated and notarised, all by the start of January when most american unis shut their application processes to international students.
Also, what's the highest TOEFL requirement you'd ever need to study at undergraduate level in america?

I don't know about the application process, sorry.
The TOEFL is only required if English isn't your native language and it really isn't hard at all. It's grade on a 300 scale iirc and the highest I've ever heard a University require was above 275.
I went and took the said TOEFL still wasted from the night before and still scored 285 or something ridiculous like that, if you speak English decently and have basic grammar knowledge you'll be fine.

no they dont. final school grades very very very rarely matter, you get in on the grades you have when you apply. unless they drastically change, it wont make a difference come summertime.
