I tend to go in no matter what.

I like my job though, in the past when I've had jobs I've not liked, I used to use my sick days as extra holiday allocation.

I used to have it marked on a calendar on my desk when I could be off again without hitting any of the company's absence management triggers.

Pretty shameful really. But I've got a spotless record in the last 2-3 years.

I'd basically go to work unless I'm literally unable to get out of bed.
I used 1 sick day in 3 years so far.

A cold isnt an excuse to skive off wrk imo. Anything worse than that and i judge it on its merits

Last time I had a day off sick was 7 years ago, and that was due to throwing up about once every 20 mins.

I've been off work for two days now with flu type symptoms.

Usually I go in when I'm feeling a little bit ill, but when it gets to the point where I can't do my job properly I take a day or two off. If I try and stay at work I usually end up getting much worse and spending longer out ill.

A bloke at work got his contract cancelled the other day for having to much time off ill but then he did use to say "I'm going out tonight for a few beers with my mates" then not turn up the next day, wasn't hard to work out he wasn't ill.

Personally I tend to go in when I have a cold unless it gets too bad, shows dedication if you go in sick got sent home the other day when I was ill, the boss told me to go home, I said I'd be alright but then she insisted, I wasn't going to refuse twice

Felt a bit guilty going on the lash the same night as well but then I had made arrangements to go out already so it was tough.
