If you want the best teams in you try to reduce the luck factor to a minimum.
Let's just hand the team with the biggest total budget the most prize money, the second most expensive team a bit less, etc. Why bother playing?
'Monopoly on prize money for the biggest teams'- league tbh.
Bring back Europacup I. Only champions, knock-out all the way. One loss, you're out. The only real champion of champions is a team that did not lose a single match on the way to lifting the cup.

This is easy, just make them play against each other in the qualifying rounds. </BLOCKQUOTE>
3rd team in EPL should play 3rd team in Spain you mean?
And on the other hand have teams from Latvia and Andorra facing off to get a spot.
No thanks, I'd much rather have both the Spanish and the English team in. </BLOCKQUOTE>
We would have more teams from Eastern Europe and from the Balkans instead of the same teams season after season.

Where did I mention money?
And no losing ONE football game doesn't and shouldn't disqualify you from being the best team in Europe. The beauty of football is the fact that more so than in any other sports upsets are possible, yet I still want to see the best teams face off and not the luckiest teams.

Then why not automatically disqualify a team that was in the CL for 2 seasons in a row?
Once again, the CL is NOT about watching teams we don't usually see, buy a Ukranian Football package if you want to see these games but allow the best teams in Europe to play each other and these teams are not from eastern europe, else they'd win the CL (or at least do much better than they do)

When's the last time they made it to the semi?
What's their record over the past 10-15 years versus Spanish, Italian or English teams?

Good to see that there'll be at least 12 automatic qualifiers, but the cup thing not going through sucks, would have been an excellent idea. Platini definitely has the right idea .
Hope the fourth placed teams have to play off against each other.
