Really don't care tbh. I like going out on Champions League final nights after work and getting drunk.

The new plans will see the qualifying competition split into two sections, with 15 teams from the leading countries vying for five places, and league champions from the remaining 40 UEFA members competing for another five spots.

Pretty much the proposals we were talking about. They've confirmed that the UEFA Cup group stage will be 12 groups of 4 as well and the Intertoto is scrapped.

Dire. </BLOCKQUOTE>

whs

absolutely ***** idea - can really see this being popular if there's an English side in the final and the FA Cup Final had to be postponed.

Even worse is the Intertoto being abolished - looks like many nations a bit further down the scale will now lose a European place.

And all this twittering on about communism and regimes, etc. - Rape off now thanks.

And what prevents you from getting drunk on a Saturday?
And if you really need to work a full day before a CL game I'm sure your boss will be very happy about you coming in the office on a Saturday

Although, you're happy when they invest money in your teams and allow you to buy better players...

So far aside from Ter's cup argument I haven't seen a single half valid reason for the final to not be played on a Saturday. I think you guys are just complaining because you are reluctant to change.
Saturdays make much more sense than Wednesday and if you don't like the foreign argument then think about all the kids in Europe who would have had to be in bed way before the end of the game on Wednesdays but who'll be able to watch it on a Saturday.
