Yeah, i remember being told that at the time. The nightclub was being fitted out when i was there, which was either 2001/2002. The hotel is quite nice too, but its a few blocks walk from the first metro line. We ended up walking in most days as it was nice weather and walking along the Amstel was nice enough.
Was in Amsterdam in September, qiute liked the place, but there were too many "EN GER LAND" heads floating about in the clubs I went into. Suppose you would get that by just going to the touristy places. Ann Frank's house was an eye-opener, get there early though before the crowds.
