Ince was rumoured too. He'd bring RM back with him to the JJB. He was his assistant at Mac and now at MK Dons.

Played some of the best football i've ever seen us play under Mathis (we're talking his second spell here, i was too young for the first) with his mad formation of 5-2-3 / 3-4-3. Should never have got the boot :thdn:

Birmingham Post website reckons we've been given permission to talk to Bruce and we hope to unveil him on Tuesday when Whelan gets back from Barbados

the main paper down here hints that Bruce is off to, and that Eric Black will step up to take charge at Blues as they cant appoint new staff whilst their takeover stuff is still going on.

I think he'll do well for you actually, just be prepared for some incessant moaning about the ref/officials/the fans/the colour of the dressing room walls being at fault for his team not winning.

Well we've put up with two years of moaning from Jewell about one of those (the fans) so at least Bruce will bring some variety.

Club needs rebuilding from top to bottom here. Clear out the backroom staff / add to what we've got is a must. Hopefully (and it does sound promising) Whelan would give Bruce a free reign to do that.

he's got his own men, so Im pretty sure he'd bring them in. He's tried to bring various staff to Birmingham and its not happened for whatever reason.

His problem there atm is the takeover - he's no idea what his future is, and I think he feels that the new guy would get rid. The current board are most likely doing him a favour by letting him go now to save him the humiliation of being sacked for no reason.

Club bias aside, he's done a good job for them. The fans are their problem - there's a lot of them that want too much too soon and think they're a far bigger club than they are. Wigan fans dont seem to feel that, so I think he'd be ok. Wouldnt be suprised if he keeps you up.

One word though, he cannot spot a striker for love nor money.

i hope you don't get him, these stupid bloody chinese investors have fecked us (birmingham) right up, he's a good bloke, while and the comment about not being able to spot a striker is partly right, he's never been given big enough money to sign a brilliant one tbf, the 4-5m he paid for heskey was the most, and he looked good his first season, til everything went wrong, its not like he can go and spend 9m or something like o'neill.

got a feeling he's pretty much yours to be honest, if he stays here he'll be out of a job when yeung takes over most likely, so when a big offer comes in from a team that actually want him, i can't blame him for taking it.

he'd be relieved to get away from some of our fans as well who are just arsholes, and can't understand that he's done well with very little resources. it'll serve the tossers all right when he does go, and we end up with some 3rd rate manager in (if we even can before the takeover, which looks doomed as well) and go straight back down.

this is going to make me sound like a right nob, and i don't know how much truth is in it, but, i actually live right next door to the training ground, and my old man, knows a man, blah blah blah, apparently nigel spink, our gk coach has said he's practically gone today

From the various Birmingham sites i've read it seems there is a 50/50 split.

Those that cant wait to get rid of Bruce and those that will be gutted if he goes

Bruce would be a great appointment, he knows exactly what you need to stay in this league and out of all the choices you have got he would give you the best chance of survival and I think you might do it.

Where is Valencia? how disappointed are you with Koumas? I remember saying at the time you might of well got Jonathan Greening and saved yourselves a few million.

imo thats because half of the fans we have are absolute mongoloids, if you question why they want him out, who were going to get in replacement, etc. all you get is some inane drivel about 4-5-1/long ball/anything else that they have pinging around their stupid little heads.

the man has had 7m to spend on a poor championship squad, what are they expecting?

i really fear for the club at the moment
