There will also be two behind closed door friendlies in the Netherlands, one against Den Bosch, the other hasn’t been announced, and probably wont be.
Is there a reason for this ? I mean, why keep it hush or not let anyway watch ?

Only reason i can think is that there have been one of two "incidents" over the past few years when we've played in Holland and Belgium. Mainly involving bladdered Wiganers doing half a dozen pitch invasions per game.

New contract signed by Polly

Quote:
Wigan keeper Mike Pollitt has signed a new contract running until the end of next season with the JJB Stadium club.

Pollitt, 35, spent spells on loan at Ipswich and Burnley last season as he found his chances at Wigan restricted by Chris Kirkland and John Filan.

"Every player wants the chance of Premier League football and I am delighted to be staying," Pollitt told the club's website.

"It's great to have Polly on board again," said manager Chris Hutchings.

He added: "You need to have more than one quality keeper in the squad and he has proved himself to be a Premier League standard player during his time here.

"He had to be patient last year and was unlucky to pick up an injury mid-season.

"He's a great pro, a really valuable member of the squad and a lively character in the dressing room."
Skoko still thinking over his contract offer. Hajduk Split and Gençlerbirliği have both made offers to him. Hutch has given him until the end of the month to accept our offer.

Rumours that we've upped the Koumas bit to £5m too

And in the Wigan Observer, Hutch has launched a thinly veiled attack on Jewell basically telling him to "stfu". Again -

Wigan agree fee for keeper Nash

Wigan have agreed a £300,000 fee with Preston to sign goalkeeper Carlo Nash.

The move has yet to be finalised because 33-year-old Nash, who had a spell on loan at Wigan last season, is currently on his honeymoon.

Preston chairman Derek Shaw told his club's website: "Carlo is due back at the beginning of next week.

"He will then meet Wigan on Tuesday, so we believe, where we expect him to finalise his personal terms and complete the move."

Nash's proposed switch to Fulham collapsed in the January transfer window.

He voiced his desire to move to Craven Cottage public and did not play for Preston again after 20 January.

The former Crystal Palace, Stockport, Wolves, Manchester City and Middlesbrough keeper then spent two months on loan spell at the JJB Stadium, without making a first-team appearance.

Nash was transfer-listed by Preston boss Paul Simpson at the end of the season.

Wigan have agreed the fee for Nash a day after keeper Mike Pollitt signed a new one-year contract with them.
Bid accepted for Nash

Decent second choice, would have preferred a younger keeper but not bad for £300,000

Good work Hutch

Carlo Nash really isn't that great a keeper. Decent by Championship standards but not a prem keeper.

He'll only be 3rd choice though imho and at a club like ours who better are we going to get to come here to be third choice.

My only reservation is that we arent after a young keeper that Gary Walsh can work with for a few years.

Then again we've given a youth keeper, Russel Saunders, a years pro contract and he's always impressed me in the reserves so maybe they expect big things of him

Bit of an odd one given that a while back Nash was saying the only reason he wanted to leave Preston was to move down south to be closer to his missus.
