I find that tactical fouling is diminished. You used to be able to run into the back of them holding X and be guaranteed a niggly trip with no booking, but now you have to jump in which, if you're chasing back, will almost certainly get you a card. Dammit. I want 'niggly trip' back.

Shooting is the thing I was most hoping would be adjusted for this version, and it has, very very very very slightly.
I find that, whereas it's easier to spoon it over the bar, it's marginally easier to put it on target if you do happen to keep it down, which I suppose makes shooting about 10% less random.
It's still arse though.

Does anyone have the minimum PC specs for this game handy please.
Gonna order it online in the near future, and need to know if it will run on my PC...

| But how do you keep it down. Seems a little random.

I always find a swift tap does the trick, really.
It does seem fairly random, but it has to do with the player's body position etc, which might explain why, when I'm locked in and firmly in the zone after about 5 hours of competition, I start shooting much better despite having no understanding of what I'm doing.

Just had another couple of totally unenjoyable games against the AI on Top Player.
Defending is taking so much getting used to on this - the defenders do so much less unless you ask them to, and challenging effectively is so much harder.
A typical match will finish 3-1 to the computer. The goals will arrive thusly:
- I score a rather unimpressive 1 on 1. Somehow, after having fruitlessly played meticulous possession football for 10 minutes, the computer gifts me an opening, I slide a through ball in and prod it home.
- The computer scores direct from a corner. I have a defender perfectly positioned to head it clear and, as was my habit on PES 5, press X if there's a free player nearby, or square if there isn't, to clear it. Somehow, on PES 6, my defender mistimes his leap and misses the header quite a lot of the time, and the goal is giftwrapped.
- The computer scores a hideously scrappy goal from very close range. During the course of the buildup, I get at least 2 very good chances to welly the ball clear, if only I could prevent my defenders from running past the ball. Once again, the big factor here is that the ball is more 'free' on this version. On PES 5, you could be sure that, if you were very near it, your defender would be able to kick/control it. No longer. It seems that you have to be more precise about things. The same applies with interceptions - the computer seems to pass through my legs at times, while making a lot of improbably interceptions itself.
- The computer scores a penalty after I execute a superb sliding challenge in the box, sending the ball flying into touch but nicking the attacker's toe in the process. I'm a little ticked off with the refs here. I like the fact that niggly fouls have been toned down, but the ref seems more... stupid. Several times have I mowed an opponent down from behind with the ball nowhere to be seen, and escaped punishment of any kind, yet I've also received straight reds for tackles 40 yards out WHICH WIN THE BALL CLEANLY. That's not an improvement, by any means.
Still, I cling on in the hope that this will all start to make sense soon.

Another frequent and annoying occurence - I might've mentioned it before:
Ball is played over the top and defender gives chase. The attacker's on his shoulder but the defender has his body between him and the ball, so all that remains is for him to knock it back to the keeper. I press X and the defender completely fails to do this. Instead, X seems to make him slow down momentarily, allowing the attacker in for a 1 on 1.
That never happened before, and there's no reason why it should be considered an improvement.

Hmm, I just played it against a human and within 1 hour we were having some really really really good games. I still have some reservations but it seems my faith has been well placed.
