I think I remember at the time thinking, should I tell people there's an automated program - so judging by these reactions I may not have mentioned it at the time..
Bigsoccer.com and Soccerphile forums are the places to find out more info and get tips etc, but things are pretty quiet at the moment.
Meanwhile, I'm yet to hear if my volunteer application has been accepted
First update I've had from the organisers, some two or three months after applying...
Quote:
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your application to work as a volunteer at UEFA EURO 2008™.
Among other things, you applied – together with about 8,000 other applicants – to serve as a volunteer at the final draw in Lucerne on 2 December 2007. We have now selected the 200 individuals that will support the on-site organisation at the final draw and, unfortunately, you are not one of them.
The fact that you have not been chosen for the final draw, however, does not mean that your application for the final round in June 2008 has been unsuccessful. We are still processing these applications and will be back in touch in due course.
That automated program was awesome. Catching a ticket was quite exciting - I got some good tickets too.
This time around I think the Croatian chap who made the program will only offer licences to those who hung about on said forums after the WC - so he says.
