Default The All New Rugby Union thread sponsored by Heineken, Magners, Guinness & something non-alcoholic for the French.

With the Heineken Cup starting this weekend and the World Cup being over, I thought now would be as good a time as any to start a new Rugby thread.

Whether it be Discussing the domestic & european competitons or where Argentina should end up playing their competitive rugby, all is welcome.

For the Heineken Cup, Round 1 Matches are as follows:

Quote:
Friday:
Ulster vs Gloucester
Perpignan vs The Dragons
Leincester vs Leicester

Saturday:
Viadana vs Biarritz
Stade Francais vs Harlequins
London Irish vs Trevisio
Edinburugh vs Toulouse
Wasps vs Munster
Ospreys vs Borgoin

Sunday:
Cardiff Blues vs Bristol
Saracens Vs Glasgow
Clermon vs The Scarlets

'Mon the Blues! Apart from the second half against Leicester, we've been gold all season. Definitely will not win the Heineken, but the Celtic League is a definite possibility.

Wasps vs Munster is going to be a bruising game.

Stade Francais should beat Quins.

Argentina must be allowed to play in a Southern hemisphere comp.
The players may be over here, but the fans are over there.

Argentia to be denied entry to either competition, and NZ to announce the next World cup will have the number of teams reduced, thus undoing all the good work of the past few months and ensuring rugby goes back into the wilderness.

Relatively good two pages in the Independent today on the Heineken Cup, while I notice as usual Rugby World has a p*ss poor preview.
