After installing Vista, much less hard drive space?
Ive just formatted my computer and installed Vista. My hard drive space is 250 gig, but its saying the amount of space i have is 127 gig. Its obviously something ive done during the install, but is there anyway to get all the space back without having to format again?

Well there are certain things that take up space, and for good reason (Such as system restore/backup features), but they really, really shouldn't take up 123gb. IIRC the backup feature takes an absolute maximum of 15% of the HD, then Vista itself takes up some (Not sure how much). So really, you should have at least 200gig free.
Did you by any chance create an extra partition or something?

On the install there were 2 partitions, one was been used with XP and then the other had all of its space free. I formatted one of the partitions, but i dont know a great deal about it so i just assumed all of the space from both partitions would be available. Will i have to delete this other partition, if so how can it be done?

Well I don't know a whole lot about these things, but I know that one time many years ago when I formatted one partition was "lost", but I managed to get it back without formattng again. Can't remember how though, but I know it wasn't anything advanced.
