So, preferred sides for Wednesday?

I'm guessing that 451, Teale and one of Boyd or O'Connor out, possibly McCulloch as well, and Ferguson & one or possibly both of McFadden and Maloney in is the order of the day?

Or will McLeish go for the same line-up except for a striker-Ferguson exchange in an attempt to keep things as tight as possible?

The thing is Teale is a right winger, so you need someone who can play on the right, and McFadden, according to McLeish was told to drif in when he had the ball (see his goal). There is no right winger ready to play for Scotland at mo, we are funny, we have a overpowering Left side, which is quite unusual.

McCulloch is not a left winger either, although he does bring a little more defenisvley that Faddy or Maloney (another on in for a shout).

There will be two changes for France, Ferguson in for Teale and one of the strikers coming in for a Midfielder (god it might only be one change with Ferguson coming in for a striker!)

McFadden has played about 2.5 hours of football and scored two goals... not bad

I'm sorry but Teale and McCulloch have to go, between the two of them all they offer the side is McCulloch's threat in the air and a combined ability to give away possession at an alarming rate.

It's all fine and well bringing McFadden and Maloney off the bench for the last twenty minutes, but since neither have played much football this season, I'd be worried about their ability to last against a side that will probably drag us all over the pitch chasing shadows. We are going to need people willing to run for ninety minutes, folks who are going to track back and provide cover. McFadden has played less than two full games so far, Maloney even less iirc. Even without Henry, France are going to be an arsehole side to play against.

And where is the proof that Robson brings more than any those players. If it was me McCulloch would play as he has, more than anyone else in the team, the strength to hold up a ball

You will also find Fletch gives away a huge amiung of possession and has played far less than any other player in the Squad.

Midfield could be and should be overrun on Wednesday.

Henry was never a worry unless he got near the box and a defender breaths on him, the diving s**t he is, now Anelka... *gulp*

I suspect we'll see Hartley on Wednesday.

Can't see Boyd playing on Wednesday, as we will probably go 4-5-1, and holding the play up isn't exactly the big man's strength...

Think Ferguson will come in for Boyd. Possibly Hartley in for Teale, as it strengthens the midfield, and Teale's delivery was very poor yesterday.

Also, not entirely sure McLeish wont throw wee Faddy up front in place of O'Connor.

Can't see him dropping McCulloch though. Set pieces will be our best shout of a goal on wednesday, so every big bugger we can find will play.

Oooh, just thought. Think he may put Brown to right mid, and bring in a defensive midfielder along the lines of Caldwell??

There goes reasoned discussion though, so I'm done.

Yep! Keep forgetting about him

0-0 after 75 minutes, Faddy comes on and scores

In fact, I'm off to the bookies

0-0 Half time
1-0 to Scotland
Faddy to score of the bench.... hmm how much would I get?
