I've always found first person shooters to be incredibly repetitive and tire of them quickly, including everything in Orange Box and BioShock (the two I've played most recently), and just find myself wishing the games would end soon. Although with Half Life 2 I think that's more of a pacing issue that anything.
Most games, by nature, are repetitive to some extent. As long as the repetitiveness is enjoyable, which most seem to say AC is, then it's not a problem.

Sold Orange Box to finance the purchasings of this and Mass Effect. Just hope I don't need to buy it again in order to play Episode 3.

I'll admit, it is repetitive, but I expected it. I've read some folks complaining it's the lack of mission variety, which makes me chuckle, while others have compared it to games like Oblivion, where you were free to follow any path, due to the developers using the term "non-linear" to describe the gameplay. Basically it's spread over three cities, each containing three targets for you to kill. You have to gather intel on your target, kill him/her, then dip a feather in their blood to prove they are dead and return to HQ for your next mission. How you go about fulfilling this is totally down to you. I guess it's as repetitive as you make it, as you can choose to sod the intel and just go in all blades blazing, or you can slowly build up information from various sources, plan your entry and escape carefully, and pull off the perfect stealth kill, allowing you to waltz right past the guards with them none the wiser.

Reviews are calling it game of the year already.
