You get the GPS and maps and all that for free but if you want the voice giving you turn by turn you have to pay. The sat nav doesn't use GPRS when you use it, I think you just need to download some of the maps once using wi-fi or GPRS.

The N91 is fine apart from the odd software glitch. Barring that I haven't had a problem with mine in 11 months.
i want this n95 though for an upgrade soon but by looking at this i think ill wait a little longer till its either fixed or something better comes out
:/.
Any chance i could buy my contract out or get a new phone the N80 is doing my head in. I like what the N95 can do but sounds like all the other N series phone.
Vodafone have been actively putting people off getting the upgrade by spouting this sh!te cos they're swamped by the demand for it. There's not much wrong with the phone. If there's a GPRS issue I'd be very surprised and if the battery only lasts 45 minutes it's because it hasn't been "characterised" properly.
As for having to spend a fortune connected to GPRS/WAP etc to use GPS, well you really don't. You can download the maps to your PC from Nokia's website, then install them from your PC to the phone.
