| tell me about, thankfully i wasn't just planning this as my only marathon around that time so training isn't going to be a problem

| Well, no. Distance is no issue, and even a relatively basic level of fitness for me'll get a time around 3:30, but it's more making sure that I'll have the time to train for sub 3 hours with the commute to work and suchlike (far easier training as a student!) All else fails, I'll smile nicely at Dave Bedford in January if I want to give it a go.
Herman - most charities ask you to apply anyway so they can get as many runners as possible on top of the golden bond places, so worth getting a magazine regardless.

it lists the crunch site address which is a clearing house for charities and i know that some go down as low as £1000-1250 min sponsorship

| Well I want to run for the MND association, but several emails back and forth over the last few months have given me the distinct impression that no 2k means no place. They only have a small number of places and get heavily over-subscribed.
I wouldn't want to really run for another charity. I know that sounds odd, but I'd rather I got through on the ballot and raised what I could for MND that way.
I'll get the magazine though and see.
