I registered for fetch but as I do mostly running around/through the local parks it seems google maps isn't much use to me.
Still, I can log all the runs etc, which will be a good thing.

| Thats where GPS watches are useful
At the very worst you can at least have a educated guess about where the pathways go.

I'll get a proper map and do it, as with Google it's just a vast empty space for the main one I use. Running mate claims it's just over three miles once round, but I'm not so sure so wanted to check.
It's 90% roads tonight though, so I'll be able to check the distance once we are done.

Yeah, don't worry too much about the log being completely accurate at this stage. It's mainly a guide to your progress over time when you're getting going with the whole thing. So long as you know a run was "about 6 miles" or similar, that should be good enough at the moment.

Cool. Just looking at the Hal Higdon site now as well. Might give his 10k training program a go. Novice level of course
And I'd have to go in at week four, but looking at it it seems OK. Apart from the 50 min cross country on Saturday. Gulp.

That's cross training, not cross country! Basically anything aerobic other than running - 5-a-side, squash, swimming or cycling would do for example.

Oh
Might swap the schedule around a bit then, as I do an hour football on Monday's (and maybe Sunday's as well). So just swap Saturday for Sunday/Monday or something.

Monday - 1 hour football
Tuesday - 3m run (more tonight ofc)
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - 2m run + strength
Friday - 4-5m run
Saturday - Stretch & Strengthen
Sunday - 1 hour football
Seems the best way I can arrange it. Not ideal I have football two days in a row, but don't think I could get either team to re-arrange their schedules just for little me.

Looks fairly reasonable. Don't worry too much about going a bit further than 3m on Tuesdays if you want since you've got two easy days straight after. If you find you're feeling a bit knackered after two days of football, then just swap Tuesdays with Wednesdays. (since Thursday isn't too heavy a workout).

That's true. Just put the rest day on Wednesday as I know I'll be knackered tomorrow after tonight
Could easily swap the two around as and when. Seems like a good plan to aim for anyway.
