Missed this thread.

Loved the first ep, I felt reconnected with old buddies.

Charley continues to annoy me - first when he legged it during the ambush, secondly when he said "bomb" at the airport. He's just one of those cringey people who drop clangers every now and again.

BUT, I can't believe Ewan is allowing his wife to come. It's his and Charley's trip, always has been. Plus the fact that everyone went "Yeah it's a terrible idea". And she can't ride a bike. And she doesn't even like bikes particularly. Just one of times when I think "women, sod off".

Glad they got Claudio back, not exactly gutted the Yank hasn't got a visa yet. My lasting image of him is in the Long Way Round when the 4x4 tipped and he did the whole American hysterical "Oh my Gooood, oh my Gooood", whilst obviously not stopping to actually help anyone.

Has anybody read "Jupiters Travels" by Ted Simon, which was the book that inspired Ewan McGregor to start all this?

I`m thinking of getting a copy, and/or the second book, of Ted Simons second around the world trip when he was 70yr old.
