calring cup is flipping rubbish because of seeding which is done fully at the benifit of big clubs and TV companies, seeding in first couple of rounds rounds means nearly all the teams from league 1 and 2 are gone by the time the big teams enter, means larger chance of all prem games for the TV companies to get excited about while the top clubs don't have to play league 2 sides at home with smaller crowds
the seeding in the carling cup is to try and keep the big teams with some sort of interest. If they had to cram more random trips to league 2 sh*tholes into the schedules they simply wouldnt enter the competition. Even so only 1 round is missed out by the "big" teams and 2 for the 7 or so in europe.
Dont agree with seedings for the FA cup would definatly loose its "magic". All premiership ties will tend to make for good games. Premiership vs Lower league will offer small clubs some financial boost and the once in the life time chance for some random window cleaner to play at Old Trafford etc. Plus theres always the possibility of a giant killing. Then the league 1 vs league 2 etc clashes despite not being interesting for those not involved still offer a chance of a smaller club pogressing to the next round.

I'm in favour of any system that gives us more games at Villa Park, in fact, how about we awitch stadiums with you lot? Doubt there has been a more fruitful place for us in the past decade or so (note, that is counting the neutral semi finals)
