Getting into the Unfriendly competition quest - started to follow the other guy but then the game crashed

Too bad about those crashes, lucky for me I never experienced them. Then again my system's very well maintained, even if I say so myself :cool:

Closed the first Oblivion gate, and I'm up to level 4. Not bad for an afternoons work.

Now got to go to bed - Got work in the morning. Damn this game!

Just got very frustrated at the sideways cave.
So I approach, and am attacked before entering, by a will-o-wisp. I unsheathe my dwarven longsword, hack at it... and can't harm it. I need magic weapons! Or silver...
So I try shooting with my bow, but it's useless. The damn thing regenerates health, so I can't actually harm it as it got healed before my next arrow can hit it.
Get away as fast as I can, and the damn thing eventually disappears. So I make my way inside.
A troll attacks, easily dispatched by my dwarven sword. Shoot a few imps... get attacked by another will-o-wisp...
I flee towards Chorrol (fast travel), see if I can find a silver longsword. Find a silver shortsword in the Fighters Guild. I sell the dwarven sword cause I can't carry both and any loot I might find in the cave, and make it back there.
This time the willy is waiting for me with a troll friend. I try hitting the troll with the silver sword but I CAN'T HARM IT. Not powerful enough... only 6 attack rating, it just regenerates the damage.
So I leave the cave, followed by the damn troll of course...
And wtf do I get a silver LONG sword or anything more powerful... or get back my dwarven sword and try to carry both or something.
I hate this cave, gonna have to go elsewhere till I can find a better sword.

The best sword i have is a fine steel longsword, haven't found any decent magical weapons yet. :thdn:

What weapons are good against the troll? I was fighting one the other day but couldn't hurt him at all, any time I managed to damage him his health kept regenerating and I got completely destroyed

Going to get this on my way home from work today, sounds fb although i may struggle to get the necessary hours in to get the full enjoyment from it.
