Sort of RPG-type games. You build up your character's stats and all. There's a main quest, although the thing about the TES games is that they're meant to be so large. So there are plenty of other quests, and you can build up ur character however you want to. I thought Morrowind was ok, but got bored because of the long travelling times, although this version is meant to be better in that respect. Still, loads of detail and all. You can even hunt deer and stuff (and so can NPCs if they're good enough)

Classic, totally open ended RPG, set in a massive explorable world with hundreds of hours of playability, and a huge modding community constantly producing new characters/adventures/weapons, etc.... (four years on, and new stuff still being produced for Morrowind on a dailly basis). If you have a social life, and like being around real people, don't get this.

More than a few mods available to combat that problem
