Paul McGrath must be shitfaced again, just said Venables with Andy Townsend beside him would be great, and perfect for grooming Andy to take on the manager's position "as his next job".
Because that's the logical next job once you move on from the Tactics Truck.

Let's see, there's Bobby Robson (senile 70-odd year old Brit who once put forward Terry Venables for the Barcelona job), Don Howe (brutal 70-odd year old Brit who once worked as Terry Venables' assistant) and David Pleat (awful 70-odd year old Brit, who was an ex-Director at Terry Venables' ex-club, Tottenham Hotspur). Now will these lithe, experts of the modern international game, have a look at the interest of an international manager such as Haan or Hodgson, or will they suggest their old pal TV gets the job as they've seen him knocking about commentary studios recently? Lads, does it really ****ing matter who we get in all fairness? The team is rubbish and should be forgotten about. What concerns me more is how the youth are coming along. A guy like Haan will want Ireland to play in a way that they just cannot - they lack the quality. We need Haan's ideas implented in the underage setup.
