The punk/hardcore/ska (and 341 sub-genres) thread.
I spoke to a few people about creating this thread a few weeks ago and was basically too lazy to do it at the time, but here it is!
Basically just to get a bit of discussion going, reviews, good bands you know and others don't, whatever...and group it all together in one place. Plus I'm sure we'll find more fans on the board who maybe don't visit the audioscrobbler/last.fm thread...
There's already a metal thread, a rock/indie thread, a hiphop thread, even a post-rock thread so I think this thread is probably overdue tbh Blatently going to be one of those threads that 90% of users ignore though.
I imagine I've missed a load of bands I wanted to include, but that lot should be enough to get you started. Plus I'm sure other people will link to bands I've missed...
Rumour has it Father Senegal used to be a punk too *desperately tries to add to this threads credibility*

Yeah, production on Jawbreaker's earlier albums isn't great. Improves on the "Dear You" album. Plus the singer's voice actually becomes cleaner/smoother...Dear You is my favourite album by them fwiw.

NOFX deserve to be in there!
I couldn't include everyone! Plus I only really think Punk in Drublic and The Decline are top quality. Prone to much averageness imo...

JJ are alright yeah, not quite punk legends though . I've got Punk Soul Brothers on cd, not listened in ages though. Never saw 'em live and just not a big enough fan to make a trip anywhere on their farewell tour...
Do you know if The Ruined are supporting on that date? Local band to me (local to home home anyway) Awesome band, horror punk, gets them loads of comparisons to The Misfits but they are really good in their own right link

I love punk and ska, not such a big fan of hardcore.
Out of your list I'm a big fan of The Lawrence Arms, Propagandhi, The Bouncing Souls (The Gold Record was my favourite album of 2006) and Against Me! who are one of my favourite bands.
Other key bands in my opinion:
Bad Religion
Lagwagon
Social Distortion
Dropkick Murphys
Anti-Flag
This Bike is a Pipe Bomb
Millencolin
Strike Anywhere
