You're lucky that no mod is going to enter this thread

Four Year Strong's new album is okay, trying to copy SYG but don't do it as well. Worth a listen though....

indeed, I thought it had similarities to SYG - but it's not them

SYG/No Trigger excellent the other night btw  unfortunately one of the bands on the setlist were one of those chugga-chugga breakdown bands who only know about a few chords and they had a class of kids doing the digging for treasure, spin kicks etc

would say SYG were better simply because I knew all of their songs, No Trigger are class but I have to listen to their album a bit more

they are quite similar, their cover of Dumpweed is amazing. Much Keyboard stuff on the new album?

Only listened to FYS a couple of times really, nothing really stood out so I can't remember much about it.

About to listen to No Trigger, they sound like they could be cool.

Against Me! are here at the end of October, will be going to that

just listened to the new FYS album, it's pretty good, can see what people are saying though, it's similar to SYG but not quite as good.

OK I've now listened to the new Against Me! 3 times, and each time I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's not as good as any of the albums or EPs they've done but there's still some great songs on it, Thrash Unreal is just classic stuff whilst there are some other strong tracks too.

I now also have the new Bad Religion album, which I've only managed to listen to twice so far but it sounds fantastic. Honest Goodbye is just amazing.

Yeah I really love Thrash Unreal.

Is anyone going to see them or Nofx in October/November?

Bringing up this from ages ago, but: YAS! No-one agrees with me on this, clearly their best album. The Decline is in the same style therefore is also very

Might go and see them, will have to see. Would probably be more to see The Loved Ones than NOFX if I went anyway tbh.

Anyone like Daggermouth? Or Avail? No link between the two really but just figured I'd ask both at the same time.

As for albums this year, on the ska side: Mad Caddies, Big D and Capdown's albums all poor by their previous standards. Strung Out's new album isn't bad but still a poor year so far I think, nothing much I've heard seems worth mentioning. Then again that could be more to do with me than what has actually been released. Will be interested to hear Tim Armstrong's solo stuff, I still haven't done this. Whereas 2006 was really quite good IMO, albums by SYG, No Trigger, The Loved Ones, Ignite, The Lawrence Arms, Gallows, The Steal, The King Blues, loads...
